KENSINGTON ART GALLERY CREATING WEALTH WITH OIL AND A CANVAS
Mark’s Art Hitting The Ground Running With Wealth Managers
Richard Hambleton – Heart 2015 (above)
We had the pleasure of meeting with Mark’s-Art Historian, Curator and private broker for the rich and famous Mr Phillipe Ratcliffe at the Geneva Free-Port for an interview a couple days before the infamous “ART BASEL” show being held in Miami Beach.
Mr Ratcliffe has been a true pioneer in the shadows of the art world that people do not have the luck of seeing or being involved in as it’s near enough impossible to be let in the Heavily guarded compound of the customs Free-Port.
WHY IS ART CONSIDERED THE BEST INVESTMENT TO HOLD?
Mr Ratcliffe explained “Art has been creating wealth for people that have a risk appetite and a need for large return on investments for centuries now, a lot of people are only realising how stable and efficient the markets are as it’s a sure way to gain profits as long as you bet on the right horse”
WHAT IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE PIECE YOU HAVE EVER SOLD?
At this point Mr Ratcliffe smiled mischievously and explained “In the art world you just simply do not speak of these things, they are considered to be very private and secretive information but i can tell you its in the 10’s of millions maybe more, who knows”
HOW DOES SOMEONE THAT DOESN’T KNOW ABOUT ART GET INVOLVED?
“Thanks to Galleries like Marks-Art in Kensington London, and the abundance of skills and talent in buying and selling Mark has created a pool of normal investors with slight interest but no knowledge the same amount of money aN Art Broker would make through the talented team and experts under his wing”
HOW DO YOU GENERATE PROFIT FROM ART?
“So it’s not always the Rembrandt’s and Andy Warholes that will make you profit, its sometimes about altering and artists image and how they are perceived through the right exposure in the right places at the right time to the right people and making sure there is only limited exclusive pieces like how Richard Hambleton and his art work which are fetching sky high figures since his passing in 2017, if you bought early you would of made 100’s of percent of profit now”
HOW MUCH IS A GOOD FIGURE TO START OFF YOUR COLLECTION WITH?
“My best advice is to always purchase pieces that are affordable for you to put away for a couple years as buying and selling in short times with less expensive pieces ruin the market value of your painting, but on the average 20-30k should be a nice figure to get something that can make you a healthy return in a year or two moving forward”
“You should check out the virtual gallery for prices and items available at www.marks-art.uk for further details”
