Irish paytech Prommt offers a solution aiming to change how companies request, collect and report remote customer transactions. The solution offers the ability to send secure, branded payment requests to their customers. The service looks to bring greater flexibility to businesses in regards to requesting payments via SMS, WhatsApp, e-mail and more. These requests can then be paid via card or directly from the customer’s bank.

Not only does Prommt plan to further expand in the US, but it also aims for further involvement in hospitality, sports services, retail, and building material suppliers across North America. The company explained that expanding its team is also a strong possibility, as it looks to capitalise on a strong 2022.

Prommt plans for 2023

Despite levels of investment dropping for fintechs globally in 2023, Prommt completed a successful Series A funding round at the end of 2022. The capital raised alongside the recent surge in customer growth will support its growth strategy into new markets including USA and Canada.

Donal McGuinness, CEO of Prommt, commented on the milestone and the company’s subsequent plans. He explained: “Prommt has seen some major achievements over the past twelve months and we are excited for what’s in store for 2023. With recruitment and expansion on the horizon, even in uncertain times globally, demand for new fintech and digital payment solutions continues to rise. I also believe we will see a continued shift to open banking payments in 2023 with significant growth continuing year on year.”

Based in Dublin, Ireland, Prommt was founded in 2016 and has seen significant growth, particularly in the past 12 months. Its recent expansion sees the company serve businesses across both Europe and the US.

2022 saw Prommt launch ‘Pay by Bank’, its open banking payments initiation capability via its partner Token. Within six months of launch, over 20 per cent of Prommt’s customers adopted open banking payments as part of the payments mix. Pay by Bank offers savings on processing costs for merchants. The open banking initiative also plans to provide a fast customer experience and deliver instant account payments.
